TRANSPORTATION
The airport is within city limits so you can easily and quickly get to the center. There is a subway line from the airport that will get you to the center in about 40 min. You can also get a taxi; the average fare to the center will be around 12-15 euro, for a 25-minute ride with luggage, although taxi drivers have the nasty habit of overcharging if they realize you do not know your way in the city.
The subway is also the best way to get around in the city. To get to UL campus you have to get off at Cidade Universitária Station and then take the tunnel way out (not the stairs way out). After getting out of that tunnel, do not cross the street, just turn right and go straight ahead with the main building of the University – Reitoria – on your left on the other side of the road. When you reach the end of Reitoria, turn left at the zebra crossing. The Faculdade de Letras will be in front of you.
